Missions in Puerto Rico
Why Puerto Rico?
(Gospel Trek Location — Designed for Athletic Teams)
A vibrant island rich in culture, faith, and resilience — still rebuilding after years of hardship.
Key challenges include:
- Ongoing economic hardship and poverty
- Housing instability and infrastructure repair needs
- Repeated hurricane and storm-related damage
- Homelessness affecting families and local churches
- Continued need for youth mentorship and community rebuilding
Why this matters for athletic teams:
Baseball is deeply woven into Puerto Rican culture, creating a natural bridge for connection, mentorship, and Gospel-centered relationships. Athletic teams are uniquely positioned to serve through sport, leadership, and presence.
Where the Church steps in:
Local churches and ministries are actively restoring hope but often need outside partners to meet ongoing physical and relational needs.
How mission teams make an impact:
- Home repair, rebuilding, and cleanup projects
- Storm and hurricane recovery efforts
- Baseball clinics, sports outreach, and youth mentorship
- Relational ministry through shared service and play
- Community engagement alongside local churches
Why It Matters:
Athletic teams can combine hands-on service, relational ministry, and sports outreach to share the love of Christ — strengthening communities and pointing hearts toward hope through both action and faith.
